Business & Community – Weybridge Town Business Group
Weybridge Town Business Group
Local Businesses working together and with local groups and bodies to:
- Improve the town centre and promote Weybridge as an attractive place to regularly visit for shopping, entertainment and services.
- Build successful business relationships
- Encourage key stakeholders to support growth of our businesses
The Local Community Needs A Thriving Weybridge Town Centre
Weybridge businesses and the local community have a shared interest in ensuring the town centre thrives, so that it is an attractive place to visit and can offer a good range of shops, entertainment and services.
By creating an environment in which local businesses thrive, entrepreneurs are rewarded for their investment, initiatives, risks and work. This secures the long-term prospects for the town and encourages further investment and jobs instead of a decline and abandoned town centre.
Successful Weybridge businesses will be able to provide local jobs and generate a healthy local economy. The mutual benefits for the community and businesses will make the town a more pleasant place to live and work. We would ask all local businesses to take up the opportunities offered by the initiatives of the business group and to enthusiatically join us..

Party On The Green
on Saturday 11th June 2017.
We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making this event a great success.
There was a great attendance from the local community who turned out to celebrate the Queen’s 90th Birthday. Families and people of all ages gathered to enjoy the entertainment, picnicking, browsing and shopping from the range of artisan food and craft stalls.
There was a parade of crowns ‘fit for a queen’ made by children from 3 Weybridge schools, with the Mayor of Elmbridge presenting prizes of delicious chocolate crowns made by Bachmanns.
Entertainment included Oatlands Pipe Band, music from Radio Jackie, rides for children, face painting & pottery decorating.
Matthew at Obsessions made a gold & topaz pendant for the event which was auctioned, with the money raised contributing to further events and projects by the Business Group and towards the charity supported by this event, which was Elmbridge Community Link.
For more info and photos, see the Party on the Green page
Prudential RideLondon Surrey Cycle Ride
on Saturday 31st July 2017.
Following the success of Queen’s Jubilee Party On The Green, Weybridge Town Business Group organised a similar event to bring the community together to have fun and support the town centre.
The public came along to join in the fun, lunch or picnic, shop and cheer on the cyclists, many of whom were riding to support worthy charities.
The video above from Computer Care shows the Classic Pro Race riders coming down Monument Hill cheered on by the crowd and Brooklands Radio who provided the PA system and music for the event. For more info, see the RideLondon – Weybridge page.
Weybridge Christmas Lights Switch On Event
on Thursday 1st December 2017.
The local community got into the Christmas Spirit, gathering around the Christmas Tree at the junction of Church Street with Baker Street and High Street.
There was a parade of Christmas Lanterns by the children from St Charles Borromeo, Manby Lodge, St James’s and St George’s Schools.
The crowd saw the lights switched on by the Deputy Mayor, supported by Posh Pawn Star Ian Michael Towning.
They joined in with some carol singing and enjoyed food and liquid refreshment provided by a selection of stalls and local traders. It was of course an opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done, with many shops staying open late for the occasion.
For more info, see the Weybridge Christmas Lights Switch On page.
Weybridge Christmas Market
on Saturday 10th December 2017.
The event titled ‘Merry Christmas Weybridge’ was a Christmas Market with Family Entertainment and Festive Shopping.
There was a large selection of Artisan Food Stalls and Craft & Gift Stalls. Father Christmas and Sleigh were kindly provided by Rotary Woking to make it a special day for the young children.
Other attractions included Balloon Modelling, the Fire Brigade, Weybidge Sports 10K and Brooklands Radio. It was an excuse to tuck into delicious mince pies, Christmas Cake, Hog Roast & sauasages, washed down with mulled wine and other tasty drinks! Also an opportunity to join in with the carol singing. A local charity was supported by a raffle.
