Elmbridge Cycle Club – Monthly Group Bike Ride from Weybridge
February 2018 – From Weybridge To Richmond & Back
Route & Info About The Group Ride
Our ride this month will be out to Richmond and back, a total distance of about 25 miles.
The ride will start at 10:00am outside the Hand & Spear pub near Weybridge Station, and will be about 25 miles of good going on a mix of roads and decent cycle paths.
Starting from Weybridge we will use the recently opened Broadwater Path to get to Walton Bridge where we cross the river. From there to Upper Halliford, Lower Sunbury, on through Bushey Park, Teddington, across the river to Ham and along the towpath to Richmond.
The return route will take us through Crane Park until we reach the A316, then we take side roads adjacent to the A316 all the way back to Sunbury. Then it’s straight back over Walton Bridge to Weybridge.

The route is on a mix of quiet and some busier roads with a few bits of cycle path and towpath. The total distance will be about 40km, which is around 25 miles.

The April ride will be the annual Egg Hunt. And being 1st April the clues might just be a little bit more fiendish than usual.
About Elmbridge Cycle Club
It was formed under the name Elmbridge Cycle Group in 2008 as the result of a mass protest about the safety of the chicanes on Oatlands Drive in Weybridge. The group was successful in getting the dangerous chicanes removed.
Elmbridge Cycle Group runs informal rides on a regular basis. These rides are open to everyone whatever your age or ability.
The rides all start from the Hand and Spear at Weybridge Station. The rides are normally on the second Sunday of the month and operate all year round and generally take 3-4 hours including a leisurely stop for lunch at a pub.
Routes are normally posted on the group’s website a few days before each ride. If you would like email notification as well please you can register to receive them.
Ages and Abilities
Cyclists of all ages and abilities are welcome and the group will go at a pace that is suitable for everyone in the group. Irresponsible people should be accompanied by a responsible person.
If you can’t make one of our rides, or you want more rides then have a look at the information about local rides on the website.
