About Katie Bell
I’ve had a successful career as a designer in London, but since becoming a mother I now paint and design from home, drawing on my commercial experience to work directly with my clients. I pride myself on completing work on time and within budget. My approach is personable, articulate, conscientious and self directed. If you have any projects or opportunities you’d like to discuss, please get in touch.
Whilst graphic design and branding constitute a large proportion of my work, painting portraits and landscapes are a real pleasure. Since becoming a mother it’s been a joy to rediscover painting which I now do to relax.
I love bold colours, so would not necessarily use natural colours but apply ones that I see in my mind, or know would contrast well. I’m excited by the unexpected mark-making that you can get which can enliven a piece. Whether I’m painting a portrait, animal or landscape I’m always trying to capture the essence of my subject. I generally work from photographs.
I am a member of the Guildford Art Society which allows me to exhibit twice a year.
I have been taking painting commissions for the last few years, recently focusing on animals. I want to provide an alternative to the classic pet portrait, so I have been illustrating dogs and cats digitally in my unique style.
With the help of photographs, I really enjoy capturing you pet’s character and visual likeness.
If you are thinking about commissioning a portrait of your beloved pet why not contact me to discuss. I provide a friendly, professional and personalised level of service which ensures that my customers are delighted with the final portrait.
Please see my website for prices. Framing enhances the portrait the best and is ready to hang on the wall. There are size options, also a mounted only option if you prefer to frame yourself. Along with a Certificate of Authenticity which I shall send through in the post.
I don’t consider the portrait completed until you are entirely happy. I have had many satisfied customers for the work I do. Please see my reviews page to read some of the feedback. Afterwards, my illustrations can also be applied to greetings cards, mugs, coasters etc. A really personal gift for birthdays/Christmas. I also offer gift vouchers.
As well as the opportunity of the portrait commission, the art can be provided in a range of gifts such as as framed prints, mugs, table mats. I work with two specialist fine art printers who are fully experienced in printing and framing. A fine art giclée print uses archival inks, which has no fading and a lifetime guarantee. I also offer gift vouchers.
