Music on The Green Esher Concert – Hampton School Showcase

About Our Guest Musicians: Hampton School Showcase

We are fortunate in this part of Surrey to have many centres of academic and musical excellence, with Hampton School being at the forefront of these. To celebrate their 450th anniversary a Performing Arts Centre was established, which has led to a succession of talented young musicians gaining scholarships at Oxbridge and leading universities. Hampton School regularly takes its Voice of Lions choir to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and recently they appeared in the final of the Choir of the Year Competition at the Royal Festival Hall. Come and enjoy the school’s top music scholars showcasing a wide variety of repertoire across a range of instruments including organ, piano, trumpet, flute and violin. An ideal way to spend your Wednesday lunchtime!

About Music On The Green

MUSIC on the GREEN is based at Christ Church Esher directly opposite and overlooking Esher Green. Its aims are to promote a wide variety of excellent music, to present music in a fresh and engaging way, and to encourage audiences from Esher and beyond.
Our concerts take place in Christ Church at the heart of Esher – a church which boasts an outstanding pipe organ, fine grand piano acquired in 2012 with a very generous loan, and good acoustics which all contribute to making our music so enjoyable.

MUSIC on the GREEN is about making music which is accessible to, and enjoyable by, as many people as possible without it being stuffy or cheapened. This is the reason for the MUSIC on the GREEN ‘brand’ – to give the music an identity of its own.
Music is about people, emotions, history… We blend all these ingredients and seek to present our music in interesting and rewarding ways, within its own context so that it can be widely appreciated and enjoyed. Whilst having our firmest foot planted at the classical end of the spectrum, we seek to offer a rich and varied listening programme.
